I may be one of the first people you trust to hold your baby. I don't take that lightly. Holding your baby is only the beginning. Knowing how to wrap and pose while keeping your baby safe involves training and experience. It takes time. Learning newborn cues, waiting for that deep sleep, and perfecting those little fingers takes patience. Newborn portraiture is an artform very different from other genres. The investment of time, education, and a studio filled with the finest handmade props is unmatched. It is an investment, and one worth making. For me and for you.

My newborn sessions take place in the first 3 weeks of your baby's life, typically in the 7 to 16 day window . My studio is warm and cozy, with an entire level dedicated to your newborn experience. All props, luxury wraps, bonnets, and headbands are provided. Simply follow your preparation guide and bring your sweet baby and essentials.

While there, I welcome you to make yourself at home. There are snacks, coffee and water to enjoy, or feel free to bring or order food. The studio is minutes away from Starbucks and local restaurants. 

Sessions are baby led, and I look to baby for both physical and verbal cues to let me know when they need breaks and if they are comfortable in positions. Safety is always our first priority. Full sessions average 2.5 - 3 hours to give baby time to fall asleep, be wrapped, posed, and feeding breaks. Older siblings and immediate family can be a part of the session in some Collections. Sibling poses take place in the first half hour and children must leave with a family member or friend so I can focus on baby safety.

Your experience is driven by creating beautiful custom art. All Collections include digital images with the option to complete your artwork with heirloom wall art or albums.

While digital files are nice to have, they can become corrupted and inaccessible, which is why I highly encourage my clients to have their photos printed. All clients will have an opportunity to place their print order after viewing their final edited images in the online viewing gallery. Print products are to be purchased á la carte and are not included in the collection packages. Wall Art Products Range in sizes from 11 x 14 inches up to 30 x 40 inches and begins at $380. Framed canvases and Gallery Matted Prints, Fine Art Wood Prints, Custom Albums and Image Boxes are available for purchase a la carte through Kim Shouse Photography.
